THE END OF AN ERA

Dear customers,

For three decades Patton has been collecting unwanted ozone-depleting and global-warming synthetic refrigerants for destruction on behalf of The Trust for the Destruction of Synthetic Refrigerants – originally The Ozone Protection Company, then Recovery, and now Cool-Safe – through its Product Stewardship Scheme.

We have received and decanted your cylinders, checked them for compliance, and, hopefully, you have been satisfied with our service over the years.

Sadly, this year, Patton has decided not to renew its service agreement with the Trust/Cool-Safe and will cease to provide the collection service through its transfer depots in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch branches and at its drop-off points in the regional branches.

Effective immediately, Patton is unable to receive R32 cylinders as we no longer have transfer facilities.

The final dates for dropping off cylinders containing non-flammable refrigerants at our locations for transfer to a decanting location are:

·       Patton North Shore –                   Monday 9th of September

·       Patton Auckland -                        Friday 13th of September

·       Patton Hamilton -                         Wednesday 4th of September

·       Patton Tauranga -                        Wednesday 11th of September

·       Patton Hastings -                         Wednesday 11th of September

·       Patton Palmerston North -          Wednesday 4th of September

·       Patton Wellington -                      Friday 13th of September

·       Patton Nelson -                            Tuesday 3rd of September

·       Patton Christchurch -                  Friday 13th of September

What happens next?

Well, it’s not all bad news!

Cool-Safe has an excellent online courier booking service, which you might know about or already be using, that will ensure that your cylinders will be collected, sent to their transfer sites, and returned directly and quickly to you.

You will also earn the ‘bounty’ payment of $40 per kilogram of refrigerant if you use this service!

Visit their website to book your shipment on their Coolest Courier Collection service.

https://www.coolsafe.co.nz/for-industry/courier-collection

As always, a 10-kilogram minimum of refrigerant contents applies to all cylinders of 20 litres capacity or more.

Patton thanks you all for your past support and trusts that you will continue to help Cool-Safe to dispose of these extremely harmful to the environment synthetic refrigerant gases.
